Digital Media and Multimedia Applications - Lab 5 (Sound Forge)

Get the source(.wav format file)
From Internet.
-ie (http://wavcentral.simplenet.com/)
-Right click to save the file you want in to your computer.
Line in form mic, cd.. etc
-Connect the sound source mic, cd player to the line in plus of sound card in your computer.
-Press the rec button.
-In the Record window click new to set the preference of recording.
-Click OK after setting .
-Play the cd player, the program is now stand by for recording.
-In the record window, click the record button if you want to capture the sound and click the stop button to stop recording.
-Click close button the sound you want is now change to .wav file.
 
Editing.
Mixing.
-Open the following files.
carhorn2.wav
fallen.wav
glass.wav
thx.wav
 
-Open new file by File->New
-Set the preference as follow
 
-High Light the sound in the thx.wav
 
-Click the copy botton.
-Active the New file, click the paste button to place the sound in to the new file.
 
 
-High light fallen.wav and then click the copy button.
-Set the starting position of insert sound by the cursor.
-Active the new file and the paste copy in to new file.
 
-You will find that the sound of transaction period is not smooth sound of thx.wav suddenly stop before the fallen.wav start.
 
-All you have to do is not use the the paste button while two sound mix together.
-You can mix the sound by the mix button.
 
-Just click OK button to finish the mixing.
 
-After you mix all the sound, you may find that some time a warning appear to warn you that the sampling rate of two sound clip doesn't match. Ant the tone of sound after mixing with change.
 
-The problem can solve by setting the sampling rate of all sound clip you want to mix together.
-Process->Resampling
 
Effect.
 
Echo
-Active glass2.wav.
-Effects->Delay/Echo
 
Flange
Active thx.wav.
Effects->Flange.
choose Warble2.
 
Fade
Active music.wav
Process->Fade->Graphic

 

-or
-High Light the end of music that you want to fade out .
-or
-High Light the beginning of music that U want to fade in.
-Process->Fade->In or Out
 
Pan
Active thx.way
Process->Pan->Graphic
